Tesla annual service in Auckland

A Tesla needs less than a petrol car, not nothing. Brake fluid, cabin filters, coolant, the 12V, tyres and a proper look over the suspension, done to Tesla intervals, on every model from the Model 3 to the Model X.

What's included

What a Tesla service actually covers

There is no oil to change and no spark plugs to replace, so a service is about the parts that do wear: fluids, filters, brakes, tyres and everything carrying the weight of the car. This is what we go through.

Every service Brake fluid test and cabin filters Brake fluid absorbs moisture whether the car gets driven or not. Cabin filters are the difference between fresh air and a musty vent, plus the HEPA filter on cars fitted with one.
Every service Brakes cleaned and lubricated Regen means the friction brakes barely get used, so calipers seize and discs corrode. Cleaning and greasing the slides is the most useful line on a Tesla service sheet.
Every service Tyres, pressures and rotation Wear pattern, depth and pressures on all four, with a rotation if the wear says it needs one. This is where a heavy EV gives itself away.
On condition 12V or lithium low voltage battery Tested at every visit and replaced when it is on the way out, rather than after it has left you with a car that will not wake up.
On interval Coolant, desiccant and air conditioning Long-interval items that still come due. We track them against your odometer and tell you what is coming rather than doing it early.
Every service Full inspection on the hoist Suspension, steering, driveshafts, underbody and anything leaking. You get told what we found, with photos if it needs explaining.

Intervals

How often does a Tesla need servicing?

Tesla publishes intervals per item rather than one annual service: cabin filters every couple of years, HEPA filters where fitted at a longer interval, brake fluid tested every two years and replaced if it needs it, and air conditioning desiccant at longer intervals that vary by model. Tyres get rotated on wear rather than on a date.

In practice most owners bring the car in once a year and we do what is due. That gives the car a proper inspection every twelve months, catches brake and suspension wear before it becomes a WOF failure, and leaves a service history on the car for when you sell it.

Model S and Model X carry a few extras, air suspension checks among them. We work to what your car needs rather than a generic checklist.

Tesla servicing questions

How often does a Tesla need servicing? Tesla sets intervals item by item rather than one annual service. Most owners come in once a year and we do whatever is due, which keeps the inspection regular and the history intact.
Does servicing my Tesla outside Tesla affect the warranty? No. You can have your vehicle serviced by any qualified workshop without losing your factory warranty, provided the work is done properly and recorded. We record everything we do.
What does a Tesla service include? Brake fluid test, cabin and HEPA filters when due, brakes cleaned and lubricated, tyres and pressures with a rotation if needed, a 12V test, coolant and air conditioning items on interval, and a full inspection on the hoist.
Can you service a Model S or Model X? Yes, every model. That includes air suspension checks on the S and X and the falcon wing door hardware on the X.
How long does it take? Most services are finished inside a working day and often in a few hours. Wait in the lounge, or take a free loan car and get on with your day.

The Guys at GVI are always super helpful in helping me fix my vehicle issues. I had an issue with my cars computer interface that they were able to diagnose, test and resolve reasonably quickly and to a great quality. I primarily drive electric vehicles, so its great i can take my car to an ev specialist who knows what they're doing. Great work as always guys, thanks heaps
